AHSa designed a new retail showroom, office space, storage area, and repair shop for the bicycle retailer Race Pace utilizing an existing prefabricated metal warehouse and office building. The new facility connects the repair shop to a storage area for parts and bikes, a retail space and a bike fitting area.  AHSa renovated the existing building and incorporated an addition which created a two-story mezzanine for additional office space and storage while allowing the signage to clearly be seen from the street. To achieve energy efficiency, the design team used a highly reflective standing-seam metal roof to reduce the heat island effect, vestibules at both entrances reduce the amount of unconditioned air entering the building, and large canopies and architectural fins limit the amount of direct sunlight entering the retail space. Inside, the high clerestory lets in natural light which the white ceiling reflects throughout the building.
